“Is there a reason why Mrs. Cavill is sitting outside your office, in her car, across the street?” Kendra asked as she looked out the window.
“You’re lying.” Jackie said with a raised brow before she walked over towards the window and peaked out of it from behind the curtains. Just like Kendra said, Miranda Cavill was parked out front but across the street. “What’s she doing here?”
“Well, based off her reaction when she met you, I am going to assume that she’s staking out her competition.” Kendra stated.
“Her competition? I’m not her – that woman has nothing to worry about. I do not want her husband.” Jackie replied.
“You know that, and I know that, however she doesn’t. To be honest with you, I can’t blame her for being worried. I mean, look at you – you’re a very sexy woman and you’re seeing her very sexy husband.” Kendra turned to her with a smile and folded her arms. “I would be a bit worried myself.”
Jackie took a big breath then looked at her friend. “I’m gonna go find out what she’s doing here. I’ll be right back.”
Without a second thought, Jackie turned on her heel and headed out the door, the morning sun warming her skin while the wind also cooled it. She stood on the sidewalk, with her face to the sky, and soaked in the heat for a moment. The last several days have been more on the cooler side, so the sun felt pretty good on her skin. After she made sure that there were no cars coming, Jackie crossed the street towards Mrs. Cavill car. The woman didn’t see her coming, seeing as she was busy talking on the phone. It wasn’t until she knocked on her window that she looked up. Jackie watched her face flush red before she ended the call and rolled down her window.
“Mrs. Cavill, hi.”
